Description of Finish

Polished Chrome is a durable finish comprised of a layer of chrome plating over a layer of nickel, laid onto the solid brass that has been polished to a high sheen. Polished Chrome has a silver tone that tends to the cooler side of the colour spectrum. This stable finish does not tarnish.

Cleaning

Pat dry after use to avoid hard water spots. Clean using liquid soap and water or a 50/50 solution of water and white vinegar. Do not soak the fixture in the vinegar solution or allow the vinegar solution to soak on the finish.

Maintaining

Polish by applying Simichrome Polishing paste and then buff out with a clean soft cloth. Protect by applying Flitz Polish or Bruno’s Faucet Wax.

Outside Use

Perrin & Rowe® products may be used outside. However, we do not offer a warranty. Use these tips for a successful installation. Polish by applying Gagnon’s SX. Remove black or white spots, mineral deposits and tarnish marks by lightly brushing the finish using a green Scotch Brite™ pad and water. Protect using Flitz Wax or Bruno’s Faucet Wax. Brush in the same direction as in faucet brush lines.

Unlacquered Brass is raw brass that is polished and left unlacquered allowing for natural aging over time. Often referred to as a living finish, unlacquered brass will take on a patina that will vary with exposure to sun, touch, oxygen and other airborne particles. It will age unevenly.
